Dr. Harsh Verma is the Chairperson of ACM Sacramento Chapter. A technology leader and the recipient of Award of Excellence for Extraordinary Contribution to Technology, by NECCC, an association of the State CIOs of the US and Best of California Award for IT Collaboration, Dr Verma is responsible for bringing innovative ideas and technologies to government practice as well as product development at R Systems, where he is Vice-President, Global Innovative Research and also Heads the Mobility Solutions Practice and Intelligent Transportation Systems Group. He is an industry veteran, with over 30 years of experience having spoken at multiple conferences on best practices in the area of mobile for industry and government. He has been involved as a Principal Investigator, as an institutional partner with UC Berkeley, when he co-founded Glocol Networks conducting research in multiple wireless projects for ITS Solutions. He was awarded the ICT Scholarship Award 1997 to visit MIT as Research Associate for Software Development in the formation of ITS Lab. He is an Electrical Engineer by profession and he has done his Master’s and Ph.D. in Computer Science from BITS Pilani, India and has a management diploma from IIM, Ahmadabad, India’s premier management institute. His current interests are Internet of Things, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Mobility Solutions, Telecom Protocol Development, Broadband Wireless Networks, IPTV, Wireless Technologies, Protocol Development, Connected Vehicles and Enterprise Mobile Solutions for Government.
